Information you provide
Newsletter: If you subscribe, we receive your email address, subscription confirmation and subscription choices through MailerLite. Signup requires email confirmation. We use this information to manage the subscription and send the studio or product updates you requested.
Support: If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or purchase information you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate the issue and assist with an existing purchase. Please send only what is needed and avoid including passwords, payment-card details or unrelated personal information.
Blog and owner sign-in
Reading the blog does not require an account. The blog management area uses Sign in with ChatGPT, provided by OpenAI. We use the verified account ID and email to restrict management to the site owner; the site-specific owner ID is stored for access control. The account’s display name is shown in the management area.
Blog posts, uploaded images and revision history are stored with Cloudflare. Drafts and future-scheduled posts are visible only to the site owner; published posts and their images are public. Posts and revision history are retained until permanently deleted. Unused uploaded images remain in the image library until the owner deletes them.
Blog management uses the essential __Host-blog-csrf cookie to help prevent unauthorized changes. It expires after eight hours. Sign in with ChatGPT also uses authentication cookies managed by the sign-in provider. OpenAI handles authentication information under its Privacy Policy.
This blog management information was added October 13, 2026.
Website requests and service providers
Opening the site sends technical information, such as an IP address, browser information, requested content and request time, to the services delivering that content. Our hosting and security services include Cloudflare. Website fonts are served by this site. Optional Google Analytics and MailerLite newsletter features load only after your choice, as explained below. MailerLite records signup-form views and submissions when its form is loaded.
Hosting, security, email and newsletter providers process information to provide their services. Providers may also keep service and security records under their own privacy policies and applicable agreements. Some operate internationally, so information may be processed in the United States or other countries. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud or security incidents.
Cookies and related technologies
Cloudflare uses the __cf_bm cookie to help distinguish legitimate visits from automated abuse. Cloudflare states that it expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. MailerLite features can also use cookies or related technologies as described in its information below. Cookie storage and provider log retention are different things.
You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking them may affect site features. We do not currently operate a site-level response to browser Do Not Track signals. Providers handle information under their own policies. Social icons are links; following one opens the destination service, whose terms and privacy practices apply.
Optional analytics and cookie choices
Analytics and newsletter forms are separate optional choices. They are off until you accept them, including when you choose “Load newsletter form” for MailerLite. Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choices at any time. Necessary hosting, security and owner sign-in features are not controlled by these optional choices.
When analytics is configured and you allow it, this public website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits, referral sources and clicks on our Microsoft Store buttons. The page address we send excludes query strings and fragments, and referral information is limited to the referring website’s origin. Google also receives technical browser and connection information needed to provide Analytics. We do not send names, email addresses, newsletter form contents, blog search text, private owner pages or installed-app activity through this website analytics setup. Advertising consent and Google Signals are disabled in our site integration.
We save your per-category preference in this browser’s local storage under tnt-cookie-preferences-v1 for up to 180 days. Clearing browser storage removes that preference. If storage is blocked, your choice may apply only to the current page. Google Analytics can use first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier; our integration sets their lifetime to 180 days without renewing that lifetime on every visit.
Turning an optional service off stops new use by this site and reloads the page to unload provider code. We also try to remove Analytics cookies accessible to this site. Withdrawal does not erase information already sent, remove every provider-controlled cookie or unsubscribe you from the newsletter. Browser controls and the provider links below offer further choices. Analytics provider retention depends on the settings of the site’s Analytics property; contact us about access or deletion requests.
The owner-only analytics setup page uses the same Sign in with ChatGPT owner restriction as blog management. It stores the public GA4 measurement ID, enabled setting and revision in our website database. Its essential __Host-analytics-csrf cookie helps prevent unauthorized changes and expires after eight hours.
These website analytics and cookie-choice details were added October 14, 2026. They do not change the WindowCue app section below.
Retention
We keep newsletter information while you subscribe and retain limited consent or suppression records when needed to demonstrate your choices or prevent unwanted email. Support information is kept while needed to resolve your request, handle related follow-up, or support an associated purchase. Necessary purchase or accounting records may be retained to verify ongoing entitlements or meet legal obligations.
We review information under our control and delete or anonymize it when those purposes no longer apply, subject to legitimate recordkeeping, dispute and security needs. Provider-controlled operational records have their own retention practices; we do not promise a fixed deletion date for records we cannot directly control. A deletion request can help us identify information that is no longer needed.
Your choices and requests
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or contact support@talesntools.com. Unsubscribing stops marketing messages; it does not necessarily erase records needed to honor that choice. You may also contact us to request access, correction or deletion. The rights and exceptions available depend on applicable law, and we may need reasonable information to verify a request.
The website and newsletter provide general studio and product information. If you believe a child has provided information requiring parental consent, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action under applicable law.
Security and changes
Our website connections use HTTPS. No website or service can guarantee complete security. If this policy changes, we will update its effective date and explain material changes on this page. We will provide additional notice or request consent when applicable law requires it.
Provider information
WindowCue app
This section describes how the Microsoft Store version of WindowCue handles information. WindowCue is a Windows desktop utility from TALES N TOOLS LLC, using the TalesNTools brand. Earlier standalone or Gumroad versions may behave differently. The Website section of this Privacy Policy covers the TalesNTools website.
Information used on your device
WindowCue uses open-window titles and application identity to display and organize your windows. Titles, custom labels and group names can contain personal information. WindowCue stores settings, pins, groups, tile order and preferences on your device, including previous valid copies used for recovery. Saved organization does not have an automatic expiry period.
Where browser-tab information is accessible, WindowCue handles tab titles and selection state locally. This handling does not read page contents or upload tab information. WindowCue does not record typing in other applications.
WindowCue also keeps local history of observed applications, including executable paths, application names, last observations, time in the foreground and window-switching counters. Processing is limited to 128 current application identities and active entries from the last 90 days. This is not a complete Windows or browser history, and the 90-day processing limit does not guarantee deletion of older data from inactive files or recovery copies.
Optional Smart Pin and Microsoft services
Smart Pin is optional and is off for new settings. A valid saved setting or recovery copy can retain an earlier choice to enable it. WindowCue asks for confirmation when you turn it on in Settings; declining leaves it off. Suggestions do not change your pins until you accept the action.
Smart Pin uses summaries of window titles, labels, applications and activity for local AI processing. Its current implementation has no cloud inference fallback. Setup can connect to the internet for catalog information and model downloads. Local AI processing does not mean that every part of the supporting software works without network access.
The included Microsoft Foundry Local SDK may send diagnostic and usage data to Microsoft under Microsoft’s privacy practices. Its documented default enables nonessential telemetry, and WindowCue's current configuration does not set the SDK's telemetry-disable control. Microsoft also documents that a minimal ProcessInfo event may remain when that control is disabled.
For Microsoft's own information handling, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Foundry Local documentation.
Turning Smart Pin off does not automatically remove downloaded models or provider logs.
Local diagnostics and support
WindowCue stores limited diagnostic logs locally. No automatic upload of WindowCue's app logs was found in the reviewed implementation. This does not establish that Microsoft's SDK or other providers send no telemetry. Cleanup occurs during later writes or access, so inactive files may remain.
If you choose to send logs or other information to support, review them first. Remove private window titles, document contents and account secrets. Information you send is shared with TalesNTools through the support channel you choose. Product and support links open your usual browser or email application. Windows, Microsoft Store, email providers and other services have their own information-handling practices.
Your choices and data removal
You can keep Smart Pin off and choose whether to send information to support. Clearing app history requests empty saves for both the main history file and its recovery generation. Both are cleared only if both writes succeed; a storage error, cancellation or shutdown can prevent complete clearing. Later observations can start a new history.
WindowCue can restore valid saved data from a recovery copy when the main file is unavailable or invalid. These recovery measures are not a guarantee of encryption, successful deletion or error-free storage. We do not promise that uninstalling, resetting or upgrading removes every app file, model cache or provider log, or that earlier standalone data or licenses migrate to the Store version.
Contact and updates
