Maximized windows leave a gap on another virtual desktop
When WindowCue is open on one Windows virtual desktop, maximized windows on another desktop may leave a sidebar-sized gap at the screen edge.
Current status
- We are investigating how the sidebar reserves space and appears across virtual desktops.
No fix has been released for this issue, and no confirmed workaround is available yet. If you encounter it, send support your WindowCue version and the steps that reproduce it.

Microsoft Store update shows “Retry”
When updating to WindowCue 1.1, Microsoft Store was reported to show “Retry” while WindowCue was still open.
Workaround
- Fully close WindowCue, then retry the update in Microsoft Store.
If the update still fails, contact support with your installed WindowCue version.
ChangelogReleasedVersion 1.1
A smaller collapsed sidebar
WindowCue 1.1 makes the collapsed sidebar easier to find and brings back more room for your desktop.
What changed
- A compact arrow tab replaces the former thin strip.
- The arrow tab makes the collapsed sidebar easier to spot and reopen.
- The collapsed sidebar no longer reserves desktop space.
The collapsed-sidebar change is separate from the virtual-desktop spacing issue reported on October 16, which remains under investigation.

Some windows do not show live previews
Preview availability depends on Windows and the source application. Some minimized or protected windows cannot provide a live preview.
What you can do
- Use the window title and application icon to identify the window when a preview is unavailable.
